Adult Hip Hop & Funk

Adult Hip Hop & Funk is a new class at Robert Crown Community Center. This is a fast-paced workout and dance technique class based in hip hop and West Coast funk (popping, locking, boogaloo) dance forms.

Who is Adult Hip Hop & Funk Intended for?

Whether you are new to dance classes, are looking for a new fitness class, just want to dance to some old school jams, or want to connect to a community of hip hop-lovers, this is your class. Adult Hip Hop & Funk is fundamentally a dance class but one that it meant to give you a workout that you enjoy.

Adult Hip Hop & Funk supports a variety of dance backgrounds, from no experience to full on hip-hop heads, and provides a cardio workout. Be prepared to work up a sweat. This class is "moderate intensity" — that is, it is meant to challenge without being overly intense.

Modifications are provided in support of diverse bodies and fitness backgrounds.

Ages: 18 and up.

Old-School, Dynamic, Inclusive

Hip hop before it was even called "hip hop" was born as a party dance deeply connected to its music and its community, and we are here to honor the spirit of party, the beats that drive it, and the community that we create by sharing space together.

Class Length & Attire

This class meets weekly for one hour. Clothing should be comfortable, non-obstructive, and support dynamic movement in all spatial planes.

Footwear requirement: clean-soled sneakers.
